(NFC) Near Field Communication

(NFC) Near Field Communication

High and new technology is transforming the way we are living in the world today. Almost every day a new technology is introduced. Some of the new technology introduced, helps us do our task easier at a lesser time. Some just change, the way we communicate and some changes the way we share data. The wireless technology is a major breakthrough in communication. We can now share data from our mobile phones, for example, to another mobile phone without any wires. All we have to do is pairing our devices. But, how about paying bills and buying tickets using your mobile phone? A technology called as (NFC) Near Field Communication is slowly being introduced in the market today.

It is a wireless technology that allows two devices to communicate at a short distant. It would let us make contactless payments using our mobile phones. NFC works from 4cm up to 10cm but most commonly it operates at 4cm or less. Its idea is from RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) which is widely used today in making contactless payments. NFC chips are now installed in Smart Phones. The Android phones now have NFC support. The Nexus S of Samsung now also has NFC hardware. The global leaders in mobile industry are trying to work together to apply NFC in their products.
Near Field Communication may work only at short distant but unlike Bluetooth, it is more secure and more user friendly. NFC would support transactions like file sharing, payments, ticketing, mobile access and electronic identification. NFC has a big chance of becoming a hit to the market because of billions of people using mobile phones and smart cards today. However, success will not come that easy. Companies, especially those in the mobile industry must work together to achieve their goal. There is a projection that in 2014 one out of six will use NFC mobile. And as a start, some mobile phone manufacturers announced in early 2011 that they would make simple NFC enabled phones.
