Hardware and form factor
The first look at the HTC Surround, it is certainly not to look unique. In fact, it looks like a generic Android smartphone. It did feel quite the HTC, so not necessarily a complaint. You have added a gray front with a nice 3.8-inch LCD display with 480 x 800 pixels. Around the back you have a soft touch matt black. Because of the slider mechanism, the phone is 0.51 inches thick and weighs 5.82 ounces.
